Shogoin turnips are mild and sweet with smooth, round, snow white roots and large tops that make delicious cooking greens.
Plant seeds outdoors 3-4 weeks before the average last frost. They take 5-7 days to sprout.
Plant seeds ¼”- ½” deep and 2” apart. When plants are 3 inches tall, thin to 3-4 inches apart.
Shogoin turnips are 18” tall at maturity. Greens will be ready to harvest in 6 weeks, roots take up to 70 days and are best harvested at 4 inches diameter.
