Mexican sunflower
Growing instructions:
-Plant seeds in mid to late spring when temperatures reach above 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
-Plant seeds directly in outdoor garden.
-Press seeds into the surface of the soil so they can get the light they need to germinate.
-Plant two or three seeds every six inches.
-After seeds start to sprout thin to one plant every 24 inches.
-This plant will reach five feet tall and can branch out to five feet wide.
-Use stakes or bamboo stalks to support the tall plants will twist ties.
-After being planted the seeds will take 5-14 days to germinate.
-As soon as the weather becomes very hot they will grow rapidly and bloom.
Mexican Sunflowers are very drought-tolerant and can be harmed by humid conditions.
Mexican Sunflowers are great for butterfly gardens because of all of the colors they have and their nectar rich blooms.
